I went to visit my sister before summer was officially over for me (school started last week!). She lives in Mobile, AL but we usually drive down to Gulf Shores, AL for our end of the summer vacation. We wanted to hit up the beaches before Tropical Faye, Jorge and whoever else whipped the Coastal region into an ugly flurry. So I flew to her house and we drove to Gulf Shores. We usually go shopping and hag out on the beach but this time we decided to be adventurous and go deep sea fishing! It was cool! We used Capt’n Hook Charters because we thought the name was cool and they accepted walk-ons; no reservations needed.
We didn’t catch any fish but it was nice to do something different. While we were there a guy told us about BOW (Become an Outdoor Woman) and we may do it next year. My sister is real girlie and could use some rugged outdoor activity. The program is 3 days long and you choose what you’ll do each day from a list of outdoor activities (hiking, shooting sports, mountain biking, etc). I think it would be really cool! Well, it’s back to the classroom for me. I have impressionable young minds to mold!
