This is sad and a bit of a shocker. Sad because EOS was a dream airline. They did everything right and made flying fun again. A shocker because there were no warning signs, other than those hovering over the airline industry in general ($120 oil, tight credit, and the recession).
EOS’ last flights will be today […]

Maybe Lonely Planet has been feeling a little isolated lately. The travel guide publisher just launched its own video site, Lonelyplanet.tv, and is looking for your videos of excursions far and near.
Of course, to be featured on the Lonely Planet YouTube channel you’ll have to compete with a bikini’d man swimming in Antarctica, a “Hills”-worthy […]

Well. Two days after we call out Continental for throwing together a pointless website, the carrier releases a pretty definitive statement updating the world on its merger plans. Here’s what the airline had to say:
You must be nuts to think we’re hitching ourselves to a dumpy, cash-hemorraghing legacy carrier who’s only hope for survival is […]

With less than a month to go until the big weekend of the Eurovision Song Contest, we hope you’ve got your tickets booked to Belgrade for May 24. We’ve got a real soft spot for Ireland’s Dustin the Turkey (who’s made it to the semi-finals), but nearly any of the semi-serious, semi-novelty acts could be […]

As Matt Gross recently reminded us, heading to Japan isn’t cheap. So how are we supposed to get our mitts on fun little gizmos and cool presents for our friends? NYC’s AC Gears has you covered.
The Greenwich Village shop is a retail outlet for AudioCubes, so half of the space is dedicated to headphones from […]

After graduating from business school, I found an apartment on New York City’s Upper East Side. Two main factors drove my choice: (1) It was one of the few in the big, bad city with which my mother was comfortable, and (2) It was maybe the best value for the dollar.
At the time, I was completely […]

Was Continental in the minority, thinking the new American Airlines blog was any sort of decent? Must have, cause the carrier has fired up its own stand-alone mouthpiece to spout opinions about airline mergers. You’ll find it at co-industryconsolidation.com.
Thing is–and this is right outta the AA playbook–the new site doesn’t actually tell us anything worth […]

So, Obama is Virgin America because his thing is change–but he doesn’t have a lot of experience. That makes Clinton–an established player recovering from the slings and arrows of just a few years ago–United.
No wait, he’s Skybus and she’s Aloha because they’re both stumbling right now. OK, fine, we’re out of terrible metaphors for the […]
